"The Search for Agent C" is a campaign to make contact with Special Agent Dale Cooper, last seen in Twin Peaks decades ago. For the past two years, Levy has conducted a search that negotiates between mediated and real experience as well as contradictory versions of the self, through performance narrative, a rituals, and a series of images.

Agent Cooper has been lost for a very long time, and the goal of Levy’s search is to recapture this man as he was just before he disappeared into darkness. What if Agent Cooper started making appearances today? Perhaps these appearances would mean he finally has something to tell us?

The Agent Cooper Sightings have had mass appeal. They have not only been written up on the Sundance Channel Blog, and featured numerous times on the highly regarded Welcome to Twin Peaks blog, but the series was recently mentioned by Kyle Maclachlan in a recent interview in "Time Out New York."

Artist Biography: Michelle Levy is a performance artist, curator, and arts administrator based in New York City. She is Director of EFA Project Space (a program of the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts), a cross-disciplinary arts venue in Manhattan. Levy’s transfixion with particular people (real and fictional), combined with a curiosity about contemporary roles of faith and idolatry, have led her to function as inquisitive mythmaker and amateur medium. Levy’s presentations, visuals and text muddle the distinction between fantasy and reality in order to explore the nature of these obsessions in a collective and relatable way, aiming to coax her audience into a space of manifold possibilities.

Levy’s artwork has appeared in exhibitions over the past twelve years, but her aim, for the most part, has been to create work that can be experienced in life outside of the gallery setting, and she seeks out ways to create personal experiences for her audience. She has recently performed in Gowanus Studio Space, Pete’s Candy Store, Secret Project Robot, Spectacle Theater, all in Brooklyn, and Machine Project in Los Angeles. She has collaborated with Flux Factory on several exhibitions (Artic Book Club and Sea Worthy) through her role as Director at EFA Project Space. She has also been a member of the Flux Factory Advisory Committee since 2009, has contributed artwork to the House Broken exhibition in 2010, and participated in a performance for Expert Oddities in 2011.
