"Anthony Striking a Pose" is photographic documentation of "Love is a Souvenir," an intervention interrogating the ways in which public policy imprints itself upon the social and cultural fabric – both literally and figuratively. Center for Tactical Magic and the Street Vendor Project designed a t-shirt commenting on NYC’s shifting public image in relation to the NYPD’s aggressive racial profiling tactic, “Stop & Frisk.” Dozens of souvenir vendors on the perimeter of Battery Park and beyond have hung these shirts alongside their wares, expanding the debate into broader territory by recognizing the role of street vendors as NYC’s frontline cultural ambassadors. This project was commissioned as part of Flux Factory’s 2012 exhibition, "Public Trust," and the winning bidder will receive the photograph and two t-shirts (sizes small and large).

PLEASE NOTE: BID INCREMENT IS $20 FOR ALL ARTWORKS LISTED ON THIS WEBSITE. YOU MUST BID $20 MORE THAN THE CURRENT BID PRICE IN ORDER TO BECOME THE HIGHEST BIDDER.
