Jeanne Liotta makes films and other ephemeraincluding video, photographs, works on paper and live projection performances. Her latest project ‘Observando El Cielo’ takes place in a constellation of mediums investigating the cosmic landscape. She was represented in the 2006 Whitney Biennial with her 16mm film Eclipse and her work been exhibited at The New York Film Festival; KunstFilm Biennale, Cologne; The Wexner Center for the Arts,and The Museum of Modern Art among others. She has received awards from The Jerome Foundation, The New York State Council on the Arts, and The Museum of Contemporary Cinema. She also maintains ongoing research into The Joseph Cornell Film Collection at Anthology Film Archives, is an artist correspondent for Proteus Gowanus Gallery in Brooklyn, programs a free summer screening series called Firefly Cinema at the 6th st and Ave B Community Garden, and teaches widely and variously, i.e., including The New School, Pratt Institute, SFAI, The Museum School, and The Milton Avery Graduate School for the Arts at Bard College.
