This workshop will walk participants through the process of editing a short video using free, open-source video software which anyone can download. Together, we will study editing techniques and tools of the trade

from film history, and employ those tools in our individual projects.

The course will cover elements of film history, and the hands-on editing process from importing footage to organizing and labeling shots, creating titles and transitions, as well as exporting videos and hosting them online. Come with pre-recorded video footage or simply experiment with what we will provide.

Jaime Iglehart is a multimedia artists who earned her Master’s Degree in filmmaking from Columbia University, and her Bachelor’s degree in filmmaking from Bard College. Her multi-media work incorporates experimental narrative films based in dream logic, with expansions into interactive film-set installations and social sculpture interventions.
