Nightlight Reception: June 28, 2014, 8-10 pm Nightlight experiments with the power of light and electronic art in transforming how we engage with public land in the city after dark. Join us on the 28th for an interactive performance by Merche Blasco at 9:00 pm!
Long Walks in the Park is a project that initiates dialogue about the philosophy of a public park. Artist Dillon de Give invites individual bird-watchers and individual dog-walkers to be paired for a one-on-one stroll in Prospect Park without their dogs or their binoculars. The walks are held in the spirit of sharing viewpoints about different recreational practices that involve animals.
We seek nominations for bird-watchers and dog-walkers (self-nominations, or nominations of other people). No level of “expertise” is necessary, only personal experience, and a willingness to discuss. Please telephone: 917-300-9521 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
November 17 and 18, all day by appointment.
December 2, 1pm public meeting at Flux Factory, 39-31 29th Street, Long Island City, Queens
Long Walks in the Park is the second in a seasonal series of dual stranger walks in affiliation with The Walk Exchange and Flux Factory. This series is part of Flux Factory’s upcoming Fall 2013 exhibition, Untitled (As of Yet), a group show about unexpected circumstances, the breakdown of routine, and displacement as a potentially fruitful phenomenon.
