As an artist and writer based in Hong Kong, 阿三 Chan Sai-lok glides across fields of art and literary practice, education, art criticism and gender studies. His art practice is mainly
concerning on text, literature and painting.
Chan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and completed a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong subsequently. He was one of editors of Qiuying poetry magazine and executive committee member of The House of Hong Kong Literature. Chan is winner of UOB Art in Ink Award, finalists of Sovereign Asian Art Prize, Professor Mayching Kao Art History Award, the Second Prize in the Essay category of the Awards for Creative Writing in Chinese, and First Prize in Book Criticism Competition in Hong Kong Literature, etc.
Chan is also a part-time lecturer in universities, and co-founders of Art Appraisal Club now.
