Nikolai Moderbacher has been in the field of art furniture since around 2000, when he began working for a cabinetmaker and furniture designer in Brooklyn, NY. After experimenting with his own pieces, it became clear that he had a passion and a knack for this form of expression. He started producing more complex items and really delving into his world, exploring his vision, blurring the lines between old and new, garbage and prime material.

Now, a few years later, after having moved to the Bay Area with his wife and daughter, Nikolai has been accepted into the graduate program at CCA and has begun his journey toward an MFA in wood/furniture.
