The street light I found on the street, and I have since become friends with the contractor that replaces them. I learned they are often replaced in their entirety, when only the transformer is bad. I rewire them for incandescent bulbs, so I don't even use that transformer. The flexible pipe comes from a muffler shop, that was emptying out its "trash", and the chair base from the University of Maryland. It was just left out with the trash pick-up. |

and Diversion, muffler lights 2000 Goth was made from a muffler that I picked up in a busy intersection. I stopped traffic to retrieve it, but I'm sure the drivers were happy it was gone. It has a Mercedes emblem on it, and the characteristic two downturned pipes. |

Chable,
2004 Made from scrap glass. Many glass shops have containers full of it, and it usually doesn't go into the recycling bins. I just have to sort out the different types of glass, because you cannot mix them. The chair base is probably also from UM. |

Dewcicles,
2001 Made from broken tempered glass. Sheets of this glass are routinely broken (accidentally of course) by glass shops, and I sweep up. I also sometimes break rejected panes, that are slated for the trash. The small pieces rejoined together produce the veil structure, and give the soft milky sheen to the glass, that makes it perfect for lighting. |

Pipe
Lights Inspired by my experience in the LA earthquake. Everything you considerd normal, now had a different meaning. Electrical cable would be dangling from the poles and spitting sparks, gas water pipes would be damaged and causing fires and flooding... So I wanted to relate this experience, where all is not as it seems. |
