Crispin Webb uses found electronics, wood, and other debris to create mechanical objects. These objects make sound and move, with the help of the viewer.

Drawing Machine, 2004
Found electronics, wood, pencil, pen, paper

Sound Bottle, 2004
Beer bottle, motor, string, metal A small motor spins a piece of string with a metal scrap on the end, that hits the sides of the bottle. A paper cone is attached over the motor, amplyifying the sound of the motor. The sound is somewhat comforting.
Coke Bottle Player, 2004
This work uses the idea of the record player to make sound with a combination of a bottle, zip ties, motor, 9v battery, found table leg. The leg was found at Jacob Hartman's rental house during a bonfire. I mentioned the quality of the wood and it was given to me for use in my work. The bottle was one of the many 2 liter bottles I have in my studio. The motor was given to me by Bob Beliecki. The entire piece was made in the presence of Desi Santiago, who also helped guide the construction. A zip tie goes through the cap and is aligned with another cap turning on the shaft of the motor creating a clicking, and a tone from the sound of the motor pressed against the table leg. All of the sound is amplified through the coke bottle.
