This event is part of the program for Must They Also Be Gods, a Flux Factory…
The Aesthetic of Waste is proud to present Waste Machine!
Saturday, June 24th
Performances in the gallery between noon – 4pm
Like scared and neglected show ponies, the members of the Aesthetic of Waste will perform endlessly at the whim of anyone who enters. For four hours, the public may come or go as they please. Throughout the day, the audience will operate the Machine and choose which scenes they wish to see; the performers will act accordingly no matter the condition they are in. Again and again and again and again. Part booze-and-adrenaline-fuele
THERE IS ALSO AN ENTIRE BLOCK PARTY JUST OUTSIDE. WOW.
The Aesthetic of Waste Collective will occupy the Flux Factory gallery at 39-31 29th St, Long Island City. The gallery will be transformed into a burnt-out Midtown lobby, where participants will assemble an abomination of performance. Over 40 short pieces have been devised by the Aesthetic for attendees to select for performance. Some titles include: Waiting for Space Texas, Suddenly Brawling, This is What Happens in Alamo Heights, Family Board Game Night and The Right Amount of Salsa.
$5 suggested donation, but like, eh. Everything’s fine.
