Opening: Wednesday, November 27th, 7pm - 9pm Exhibition dates: November 28th - December 5th, 1pm - 6pm (closed Monday, 12/2) Flux Factory Artist-in-Residence Emi Nishiwaki presents her new works, Sway of Dream and Constellation. Using performance as a starting point, she transfers key concepts into different media, including photography, drawing, video and fabric.
In his solo exhibition at Flux Factory, Alex Young presents EARTH∣MAN∣EARTH – a constellation of objects, ephemera and video resurrecting the spirit of integrated mega-scale world planning in an effort to postulate a new social structure for the early 21st Century. Immortalist philosophy, Weaire-Phelan bubble formations, and bio-preservative moss bogs will be integrated into a sustainable living model fusing environmental, social and mental ecologies.
About the Artist: Alex Young is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and curator whose research based practice employs critical and experimental historiography in exploring the motivating factors and end results—and the subsequent potential for disconnection between the two—in the construction of the built environment.
