Flux Saturday: Draw A House, Bottle Beer & Watch a Movie
August 2 @ 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm EDT

Our serial public program and potluck is back! Flux Saturdays are organized by different artists and take many forms, including pop-up exhibitions, performances, screenings, artist presentations and more.
Workshop: Draw Me A House with Jonas Vansteenkiste
Draw me a house’ is a participatory project in which anyone can participate. The assignment is simple; draw us a house and fill in a short questionnaire. All submitted drawings and answers will become part of the ongoing project, which collects and archives how people classify houses.
Screening: Bottle Beer and Watch a Movie
Join Alicia Grullón and gil lopez for a curated compilation of film clips from the late 20th and early 21st centuries that explore themes of overconsumption, government conspiracy, patriarchy, and community- offering a cinematic mirror to our current moment. From blockbuster hits to cult favorites beloved by cinephiles, some clips are beer-themed, others not, but all provoke reflection. These classic summer selections raise questions we’re lucky enough to recognize now as cautionary tales. Between beer-making sessions or during breaks, we’ll share a short, informal conversation over a cold one—unpacking what surfaced for us in the viewing.
This event is part 2/3 of gil lopez’s Flux Homebrew 101.
