Flux Factory’s Art Auction is back! The auction featuring over 50 artworks from Flux’s community will launch online on October 9 and culminate in a Gala on Thursday October 23.

We’re excited to return for a second year to 55 Suffolk where you can enjoy the lovely rooftop view of downtown Manhattan with a catered open bar, gathering 150 of Flux’s supporters, artists and community members. This annual fundraiser makes Flux’s free public programs and affordable artist residency possible.

About our Guests of Honor:

We are proud to honor Jean Shin and Shaun Leonardo for their visionary work in NYC’s cultural landscape.

Shaun Leonardo recently returned as Co-Director to Socrates Sculpture Park, a place where he had previously spent a decade in various positions. Shaun’s humorous energy embodies the Park’s spirit of presenting ambitious public sculptures in an accessible, prolific green space. An active and widely exhibited artist, Leonardo’s work critiques conventional masculinity by absurdly exaggerating depictions of sports and masculinity in performances and multimedia. His work has been featured at the Brooklyn Museum, Walker Art Center and LACMA, among many others.

Jean Shin creates sprawling installations transforming accumulations of discarded objects into powerful monuments that interrogate our complex relationship with material consumption. Her notoriety exploded with a 2004 MoMA Solo Exhibition and she has since exhibited in over 150 museums. Jean serves as a faculty member at Pratt and on the board of the Joan Mitchell Foundation.
