Flux Saturday: Li-Ming Hu & gil lopez
July 19, 2 – 6 PM
Flux IV (56-21 2nd Street, LIC)

Our serial public program and potluck is back! Flux Saturdays are organized by different artists each month and will take many forms including pop-up exhibitions, performances, screenings, artist presentations and more:

Li-Ming Hu — Fake It Till You Make It: Open Studio & Pop-Up Exhibition
Li-Ming Hu will be showing a selection of her fur paintings, which include renderings of works by Matisse, Mondrian and Warhol. She will be working on a new piece and happy to discuss and share her process.

gil lopez — Fluxy Brewery: Homebrew 101
Join us for a crash course in beer making. Fluxer gil lopez will guide participants through all the steps of beer making using simple ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast. The demo will include all necessary equipment, sanitation and the process of making wort, then start the fermentation process. Come early to help sanitize and stay late to pitch the yeast after the wort cools, but don’t miss the gil’s presentation (2:30 – 3:30 PM). Making beer is a multi-stage process, so join gil again on August 2nd for bottling day and a movie, then for our next Flux Saturday on August 16 for beer tasting and a crafting party.
