Join us on Thursday, October 13 for a live sound performance with Kino Benally, Tati Benally, and Rhizome Fellow dre jácome. Audio collage, hypnotic percussion, and field recordings become the ground for world building, as the artists move between the recorded and the improvised to hold land and memory across space and time.

About the Artists

Kino Benally is a Diné composer, producer, and sound artist from Shiprock, New Mexico. His debut album was released on Hush Hush Records; his score for Reimagining Native earned awards at SXSW 2025. He has composed for PBS, and CBC Radio. He regularly teaches sound composition workshops across the Southwest and had his music featured on KEXP, Lot Radio, and KSUT.

Tati Benally is an interdisciplinary diné artist from diné bikeyah that is interested in movement and connection.

dre r. jácome is an andean-american transdisciplinary artist, storyteller, and strategist inspired by magical realism and the survival arts of everyday living. Drawing from her studies in history, herbalism, and interactive technology, she weaves across digital and land-based technologies to honor and defend BIPOC knowledge systems held in story, nature, and recovering cosmologies. Her practice is grounded in relational methodologies—archival research, oral history, critical ethnobotany, and long-term partnership with organizations and chosen family—and indebted to years of working alongside solidarity economy, abolition, and popular education movements across Philly, NYC, and Bogotá. Currently, she serves as the communications director at the After Violence Project.
