Thursday April 27th
Screening at 7pm
Join the NYC Real Estate Investment Cooperative and Flux Factory for a film screening!
There will be a brief opportunity for people to discuss the film and how it relates to our communities. All are encouraged to bring food and drink! Good refreshments always make for even better company. We hope to see you there!

We will be watching Kelly Anderson’s 2012 documentary, “My Brooklyn,” the story of her journey to understand the forces reshaping her neighborhood along lines of race and class. It raises questions of how we can heal the deep racial wounds embedded in our urban development patterns and how we can become active in fixing a broken city planning process. We will hold brief group discussions after the film to discuss its themes and applications to our work preserving community space today.

The Real Estate Investment Cooperative is working together with members to secure permanently affordable space for civic, cultural, and cooperative use in NYC. We are incubating a NYC Real Estate Investment Cooperative (NYC REIC) that leverages the political power and patient investments of members to stabilize neighborhoods and build an inclusive, resilient city.
