Open Call: A New Future 2026 Residencies

Flux Factory is excited to announce an Open Call for NYC-based artists and curators to participate in A New Future Residency Exchange, a new initiative to strengthen collaboration and build relationships between the US and 9 post-Soviet countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
Through this open call, seven NYC-based artists and curators will be in residence at host organizations in post-Soviet countries from November 2026 – July 2027. A New Future builds a long-term, artist-driven network connecting artists and cultural practitioners in the US and post-Soviet countries. These exchanges provide artists with time, space, and a collaborative environment to develop new work while engaging directly with local communities and cultural contexts.
Each residency will be tailored to the interests and needs of the participating resident and host organization. Residents will have the opportunity to conduct research, create new work, and share their work with the local community.
Support for Participating Artists
The fully-funded residencies provide accommodation, per diem, visa support (if needed), international travel, and a materials stipend. Flux Factory makes international travel arrangements and works with the host organizations to make local arrangements and provide on-going organizational support and translation as needed.
