Help Carla “Kiki” Freiha’s Family after devastation in Beirut

From August, 2020

The damage following the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon is sorrowfully felt throughout the world. We feel it personally here at Flux Factory, as Carla “Kiki” Freiha, a Flux Factory alumni, has lost her family home. Her family is physically OK – which we are so thankful for – but it is a heartbreaking and immense loss.

We are collecting funds through Paypal and Venmo to support Kiki’s family as they begin the incalculable task of picking up the pieces. Funds will be donated to Flux Factory Alumni and Board Member, Will Owen’s personal Venmo and Paypal, as we cannot use Flux Factory’s bank account due to legal restrictions.

Please give whatever amount you can directly via Paypal to will.e.owen@gmail.com or via Venmo to @will-owen

We will mail a check to Kiki by the end of the month (currently based in Montréal), to reduce international currency conversion fees. In order to provide full transparency of this process, we will anonymously post all receipts of donations, as well as the final check sent to Kiki.*

Please consider donating to Kiki and her family. Consider helping out our friend, collaborator, and collective member who in 2017 built our now standing raised beds rooftop garden.

Thank you,
Flux Factory

  • Thank you to everyone who donated! We raised $3344.69 and sent it to Kiki and her family.
