An event at Harvestworks on Governor's Island, focusing on sound art and new media works-in-progress from the Flux Factory community. We will consider how being part of a group of socially engaged artists working as a collective contributes to the development of creative technology practices.

A nomadic collection of endangered creative works including films, graphic novels, music, literature, visual and performing arts that were banned, challenged, or partially censored. The Flux Island installation will feature a Halloween-themed collection of frequently censored works.

An installation by Li-Ming Hu is a part of the Mama’s Augmented Reality exhibition series, where artists are asked to create/interpret their mother’s kitchens as they exist in memory with whatever materials they have at their disposal. Curated by Eleni Zaharopolous.

Join us in playing a spooky sound composition live! We will have various instruments, objects, and microphones set up to create our own live haunted house soundtrack for Colonels Row on Governors Island! Everyone of all ages are welcome to participate in creating sound effects.

Feralpy is a radical and untamed exploration of experimental forms of therapy by artists curated by Jemila MacEwan and Amelia Heintzelmann for Flux Factories summer programming. Taking place on Governors Island over consecutive weekends over the summer this wild and free-range exhibition is open to performances, meditations, classes, installations, video work, and one-on-one experiences offered by artists.

For June Flux Saturday @governorsisland Abby Cheney and Hanna Washburn invite you to join them in creating Tangled Vines, a temporary installation made of reused and recycled materials happening at 404A Colonels Row. We invite anyone to bring any materials they wish to add to the installation to the island on Saturday, June 24. We will also have materials on hand for anyone to use. The work will be constructed on Saturday and will be on view through 5pm on Sunday, June 25.
